Hidden Gems on the Australia's East Coast

6:14 PM

Next to its breathtaking beaches, numerous beautiful national parks, charming little towns, and many activities that can fulfill anybody’s wishes, it’s no wonder Australia’s East Coast is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world ‒ there are just so many things to see and even more things to do. Plus, this part of Australia is not hard to explore, so if you’re planning on visiting the Land Down Under, here are a couple of things you should definitely see on Australia’s East Coast.

Cairns

Cairns is usually considered the party town of the East Coast, so it might be the best to visit it at the beginning or the end of your trip, depending on when you want to release some energy. Most people enjoy relaxing during the day and partying at night, so if this sounds like your perfect vacation, make sure to visit this town. It’s also one of the best places for scuba diving and snorkeling, which makes it perfect for all the adventure seekers who love water sports and marine life.

Rainbow Beach

A place that definitely deserves your visit, Rainbow Beach got its name from its colorful sand. Here, you can sand sled down the hills, walk along the beach looking for the differently colored sand, or just lie down and enjoy the sunset. This place is also perfect for those who enjoy their privacy and are looking for something more intimate, as there are only a couple of bars and a few restaurants.

Byron Bay

Byron Bay might be one of the most popular places for surfing since there are many beaches with countless surfers practicing their skills all the time. It’s also known for kayaking in case you’re not really into surfing. After all, you can always just sunbathe on one of the numerous stunning beaches and watch others surf the day away. Plus, the amazing Byron Bay accommodation is a perfect mix of luxury surrounded by heavenly nature, which is bound to make you wish you could stay there forever.

Agnes Water/1770

The place that is known as the first western settlement in Australia is great for those who feel the need for speed. There are exciting mini motorbike tours, also known as scooteroo tours, that allow you to ride mini choppers around the nearby hills while enjoying the sights in a big group of bikers just like you. If you’ve always wanted to ride a bike, this is one of the best ways to start.

Fraser Island

This island offers one of the most memorable experiences as it is the largest sand island in the world with beaches spreading as far as the eye can see. If you love animals, you’d be happy to know that you’d  get to see plenty of wild dingoes here. There are also tropical rainforests and freshwater lakes, so it’s a true paradise for all nature lovers. Just don’t miss out on the chance to visit the stunning Lake Mckenzie ‒ it’d be worth the trip.

Yamba

One of the most beautiful and peaceful hidden gems of Australia’s East Coast, Yamba has a very friendly and laid-back vibe, which is always appreciated by all the visitors. It’s filled with gorgeous beaches that are perfect for getting a tan or improving your surfing skills. It is also known as one of the best backpacker cities in Australia, so if you’re looking to experience that true “Aussie” lifestyle, then this is the place to be.

Whether you’re into surfing, kayaking, bike riding, or something “slower” like exploring the nature, sunbathing, and walking on beautiful beaches, East Coast has something for everybody. So pack your bags and head to the Land Down Under where you will surely have the time of your life and gain many experiences you will cherish for a long time.

Thank you for visiting!
