Focus

8:52 PM

I have been long gone in the blogging world, I am having a hard time juggling my college duties. As of now I can only share to my readers and co-bloggers a word of advice which is, never give up on blogging. Remember to focus on why you started and just do it. I actually really needed to push myself to make a post. I'm slowly losing interest in blogging. I'm trying to weigh in the advantages and disadvantages of blogging.
Disadvantage of Blogging:
  • Its time and energy consuming
  • Its very systematic
  • Its hard to promote
  • Its difficult to have a consistent reader
  • Writers block
The list above our my opinions on disadvantages of blogging. Usually, most of my free time is used in two process blogging and promoting in cycle. Sometimes I question myself is it worth it, should I blog or expand my skills in other fields? Or should I just rest.

Its also very hard to get readers, I have a few loyal readers that visit my blog without me promoting my blog to them first and I am very thankful for that. Its really hard to be unique among so many great bloggers. To capture the interest of people is still a bit alien for me. As of now I'm still in the process of finding my own style.

I am not a great writer, I am more on the line of an average writer. I don't know deep words, I have a hard time composing sentences and only a few list of vocabulary are engraved in my mind. That's why I tend to have short explanation on my blog.

Lastly, its very tiring to produce a decent material for an entry on my blog. Its time and energy consuming, its really hard to please your own self. Sometimes when I create a design or art I am usually disappointed. Its very seldom that I like my work, but when I do its just for a period of time.

Advantages of blogging:
  • Self rewarding
  • Share informative knowledge
  • Online community
  • Power to influence people
  • Self exploration
  • Freebies
  •  Fame
Owning a blog is something I could be proud of, its not just a compilation of pictures in the internet but a story of myself. It very rewarding and self fulfilling since I could share my though, style, likes, and dislikes. Besides blogging is not just only for me, it can also help people gain knowledge about different things.

Receiving freebies and money from different companies, and also to be featured in an article or to be invited in an event (I hope this happen soon, fingers crossed). I confess that my first motivation for blogging was freebies and money. But as I grew in the blogging world I realized that connecting with people around the world and making friends is one of the greatest reason that kept me going. There's also a part in blogging that lets me explore myself in unusual ways.

I hope I can get my act together and post more.
Focus and don't lose sight of what you started. Keep going until you reached your goal.

Thank you for visiting!
Till next time.

  7. I think if you enjoy blogging then, you'll be excited once you get an idea. I was in a writers block for a while a few weeks ago and once I got an idea, I got super excited and kept blogging. I think it comes and goes and there will be days where you won't feel like posting but it's only natural! Can't wait to see the types of posts you come up with! x

  9. I agree with some of your pros and cons of blogging.
It is very time consuming and it takes a lot of handwork but at the end of the day, hard work pays off soon enough.

What we can is to enjoy every bits of it and make it as a memories.

  12. Its really hard to give up blogging, i already tried it but i keep on coming back and thinking what to post, its already become part of my life and routine that's really hard to remove... Just do what you desire, blog to express. Blog can wait (i think) do it on your free time after you finish your student duties and when you already had a rest :)

  13. Thanks for this honest post, Aimee. And I totally understand what you mean. I've been blogging for a few years now, and you do get those periods when you question whether it's worth it or not. Money and freebies have never been what got me into it, so that's why it's probably easier for me as I have no pressure. All I can say is that post what you love to write about, which as far as I can see is what you've been doing:)

  15. I can relate to you because recently I have thought about giving up blogging too. However, I realized that I don't really want to do that. Sometimes all we need is a little break.

It is indeed hard to stand out in the world of blogging. Personally, I just think of blogging as a form of communication. Most of us will never get famous or have hundreds of people read our blog...but that it o.k because most of us don't really need millions of followers, do we?

If we think about it, even one loyal reader means a lot. Even if there is only one person who will read our blog even when we don't promote it, that means we're doing something right!

You look great btw...love those ripped jeans!

  18. We are hardest on ourselves and I think you are doing just great Aimee hard as it is to juggle blogging with other things. Much as we all wont become the it bloggers, we are all unique in what we put out and that makes us special. You look lovely.

  19. I can totally relate to how you're feeling. Sometimes it's tough to keep at it! It took me a while to really find what I was passionate about before blogging really took off for me :)

  24. I totally can relate to this post. I have the same concerns with blogging. I'm starting to lose my passion for it. It makes so alarmed at the same time. But yeah, I reminded myself too. As a solution, I put no pressure on my blog anymore. No more due dates, just post anytime and bout anything. :D

  27. I know exactly how you feel I am starting to question myself about this bloggin stuff since I get busier from day to day, question such "is this worth my time, to consume my times and energy just getting online, attract unknown people attention, why can't I just live the real life instead? getting a life, making priority on gaining knowledge from book, make a goal to read 20 books in a year that would perfectly risk my blogging time etc"

I'm still discovering all of this mind-traffic, I hope I end up with the right decision.

Lastly, thankyou for your lighten encouragement I'm very delighted to come across this post of yours! I pray that your goal to get invited to the event from blogging is come true!

I also enjoy your snapshots, you're one heck of artsy person! as I checked out your instagram too!
